User activation emails for new registrations are not being sent even though it says they were in email history.

The new user Hikashop account user is created and appears in Joomla users as not Enabled and Not Activated (both gray X).

If I try to send an email to the new user in that state using Joomla's Users Mass email the email never goes through. However if I choose "Send to Blocked Users" then the user gets the email even though they are neither Enabled nor Activated.

New user registration is set to Self in Joomla. Joomla email delivery is set to SMTP and works.

My store emails worked fine until a month or so ago. I might have had one or two Hikashop updates.

So my question is, am I missing some configuration option in either Joomla or Hikashop that might set new users to Enabled but not Activated in order for that initial registration email with the activation link to go out, or is there some setting or hack to make in Hikashop in order to also "Send to Blocked Users" out of Hikashop for that activation email, like Joomla mass mail does?

Other suggestions?

My Hikashop package is "essential".

Thank you.

Hi,

If the email is in the email history, then the email was sent to the SMTP server of your hosting and it accepted it. So, from that point, HikaShop did its job.
However, if the email was not received, it's likely that it got blocked somewhere.
I would first recommend trying your registration with mail-tester.com/ in order to check if everything is properly setup and if your server is not on some kind of blacklist.
Also, the exact reason why the email was not delivered to the recipient mailbox is normally logged in the log file of the email server of the hosting. So you can contact them with a screenshot of the details of an email that was not received from the email history and ask them to look into the log of the email server for the reason why the email was not delivered. They should be able to tell you what's wrong.
If it's not a spam issue (which you can check with mail-tester) it's usually a problem with what you configured under the "emails" section of the HikaShop configuration. So you can also provide a screenshot of this to your hosting support.
