Hi,

To generate a Merchant Center feed I’m using this plugin: HikaShop Google / Meta Products Feed Plugin. With it, my product feed is updated automatically, which is great.

However, in Merchant Center, many items are flagged as “requires attention” because the “Multipack” attribute is missing.

In my case, I have more than 1,800 items, and multipacks vary depending on how many units each pack contains (1, 20, 25, 50, 75, etc.). This information is usually already included in the product description (except for some products sold by weight — those I don’t mind editing manually in Merchant Center).

Is there any way in HikaShop (or in this feed plugin) to automatically populate the Multipack attribute based on product data (for example, a custom field, product code, or another rule)? If so, what would be the recommended approach to set it up?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The HikaShop Google Products feed plugin already supports the multipack attribute.

Here is how to set it up:
1. Go to HikaShop > Display > Custom fields and create a new custom field on products (e.g. with column name product_multipack, type text).
2. On each product that is a multipack, set the value of that field to the number of items in the pack (e.g. 6 for a 6-pack).
3. Go to the Google Products plugin configuration (Extensions > Plugins > HikaShop Google Products) and in the Multipack setting, enter the name of your custom field: product_multipack
4. Regenerate your feed.
The plugin will then output the <g:multipack> tag with the per-product value in the XML feed.

If you don't set a value on a given product, the multipack tag will simply be omitted for that product, which is the correct behavior for single items.
