Hi,
I have setup my menu with maximenu and i'm getting confused with the hikashop content modules and content menus.
on my site there are 2 path to display products:
1- click on the product menu item and from there I can view all the products even when hovering over the maximenu and choosing a category there.
an example path is:
www.hedcor.eezy2web.co.za/products/category/13-office

2- however if I am on the home page and click on a category by hovering over the maximenu and choosing a category (without clicking on "Products"), then I cannot see the products and the path is different:
www.hedcor.eezy2web.co.za/component/hikashop/category/13-office

as you can see the one is /products/ and the other is /component/hikashop/
how can I get the path /component/hikashop/ to display products?

thank you

It seems to come from the way maximenu generate the links, without the Itemid parameter.
There might be something to be fixed in maximenu for that.

When, no menu is provided, the system uses the default settings set in the Display tab of the configuration. You shoudl try to set a products listing module in the "associated modules" option of that tab.

Thank you Nicolas, setting up the default "associated modules" did the trick.

your support is always very good and hikashop is brillant. by far the #1 joomla e-commerce solution.

On a completely different note (I hope it's ok...) I'm looking for a solution to sale online subscriptions that would give access to educational streaming videos (different site), what would you recommend? can hikashop do the job?

You can use HikaShop for that along with akeeba subscription:
