Hello.
We sell natural alkaline water and many customers are unhappy as they forget to order the water or they have to log in always in order to make an order.
The solution would be a checkbox or an option to automatically renew the order each x days/weeks/months, of course with the possibility to cancel, delay or modify it.
How is this achievable. I've seen solutions for recurring paypal payments but, in our case, the payment is done at delivery so it won't apply.

Any way, there is no risk involved if he forgets to cancel as he would not pay for it.
Thank you!

Hello,

There is no built-in feature to do such kind of workflow.
With HikaSubscription, you have a subscription system which allow to perform recurring payment (with compatible plugins) or to notify the customer that its subscription will expire.
Even if HikaSubscription could be an interesting base to implement such kind of features ; it would still require some (custom) development to have a manual payment method which authorize the recurring ; and maybe some other stuff to allow the modification of the subscription (its frequency or add some delay).
But it would be more interesting to use a base than start from scratch since it would require to create interfaces to handle the "auto reorderings".

Your explanation seems to be far more complicated than what i thought.
It should be like a field called next order which should count days. And when the numbers of days is due a new order is automatically created identically with the last order with the same value of next order field.
Thus, the client would only check a recurrence checkbox and would specify the number of days until next order.Anyway, he will also receive the e-mail with the order and he will be able to cancel it prior it is delivered.

Hi,

It sure is possible to do exactly like you want. That will require the development of a custom plugin to handle all that and probably some view overrides to add the new interfaces needed for that.
Jerome was only pointing to the fact that HikaSubscriptions has a subscription system which might be usable to help a bit reduce the development needed.
In any case, that will require a developer to work on that for you.
If you want us to work on that for you, you can contact us here to go deeper in details on what's required with us:

It would be great if you could do screenshots of the interfaces where you see new elements you would like. For example, the orders are displayed on the user control panel and on the orders listing on the frontend. If you don't have menu items leading to these pages (and the customer only access his orders via the link on the email notifications), then there is no point in modify these interfaces for your needs, only the order details page would be concerned. Knowing what you want where will allow us to give you a quote on the development.
