PayPal Recurring Payments

Hi,

I've had a good look through the forum posts on the PayPal Recurring Payments plugin and setting up Akeeba Subscriptions to work with it and have worked out that basically it won't work if you're not using the Subscriptions component.

I'm working on a site that has a Book/DVD product which can be purchased in 3 installments and it would be very handy if Hikashop supported that at some stage.

I'm just wondering if there are any plans in the future for adding support for standalone recurring payments with PayPal?

Cheers

Nathan

Hi,

You can use Paypal recurring plugin without akeebasubs.
In the options of paypal, you can select "global recurring" or "installments".

When selecting "installments" you can set in how many times the product can be paid.
Global recurring, is for re-ordering the same order at a defined recurring period.

This is exactly what i need to do on my site...but there is no demo of it on demo system. I also could not find any documentation on the plug in, the options/setup, etc.

I need to be able to have an order for a product that costs $1,000 with a 25% deposit at time of order, a 50% payment due on a specific date and the final payment due on another specific date.

Any chance it can be added to the demo area so it can be reviewed or alternatively a link to the documentation in this post so i can see how it will work once implemented.

Thanks in advance

Hi

Yes, I have the current version.

I did discover that hikashop recurring payments require the akeeba subscription module to be installed. The "subscription" drop down only appears when akeeba and the hikashop to akeeba plugin are installed.

There doesn't appear to be a method to sell a paypal subscription directly from hikashop

Hi,

@ateam98: The installments allow to pay a product in x times, but actually don't allow to make a 25% + 50% at specific date + final payment.

@tdilkie: With the latest version of Paypal Recurring plugin, you don't need Akeeba if you select the "installments" or "global recurring" value for the option "Type of subscription".

The paypal recurring plugin can be found here:
