Hi all,

from the 1.st of July, the tax rate in Germany will be changed to 16% (currently: 19%)
How can I change the tax rate in Hikashop?

Many thanks in advance

Hi,
I guess I found it, is it simply changing the rate here?
Best regards

Hi,

Yes, you can click on the "manage tax rates" button to get to the listing of rates and edit the rate and change its percentage.
Or you can create a new rate instead, and duplicate your tax rule in the System>Taxes listing and use the start/end date options of each rule so that the tax rate will automatically switch at midnight on the 1st without you doing anything.

Hi Nicolas,
many thanks for your fast reply and for pointing me (again) in the right direction :)
So the config should look like in the attachment?
Best regards
Torsten

Almost.
Two things:
- You want an ending date for the second tax rule so that it swaps from one to the other.
- You used the word "German reduced". Note that this text will appear on the checkout, invoice, emails, etc.
So I suspect you want something like "MwSt. reduced" (and probably translate reduced in German)

Thanks for the update, Nicolas. I´ve created a new rate now, see attachment.
There was already an end date set but it is only showing the start date. Will the "MwSt. (19%)"-tax rule automatically disabled when the new rule kicks in tonight?
Many thanks
Torsten

Hi,

No, I mean you need to add an end date to the 30th of june at 23:59 in the other tax rule so that it disables it when the other kicks in.

Hi,

Then it's all good. There is a bug on the listing leading to the restriction on the "end date" not display. We'll fix that for the next release.
I just wanted to make sure with you that is was all set properly as I couldn't see the "end date" restrictions on your screenshots.
