Is it possible to restrict payment based on product?

As the title says, is this doable? Maybe with some PHP customization? Right now payment plugins are only restricted by shipping method / zones.

Hi,

Not directly, but indirectly it's possible.
You could set a weight or dimensions really high for a product.
Then, you could configure the weight or volume restrictions of your payment methods so that they would display or not, taking into account the extraordinary weight / volume configured in the product compared to all the others in the shop.
