Paypal Checkout: problem with redirect with an eps payment

Hi,

I use PayPal checkout with various payment methods, including eps. When I complete a payment with eps, I receive a message saying that the payment has been successful. When I click on the “Back to webshop” button, the message shown in the screenshot appears.

However, I am not redirected anywhere; the window simply remains open. The amount is also refunded by PayPal.

There is a field called “return URL.” I entered the address xyz.at/unterlagen/checkout/confirm there. Now the redirect to the shop works, but “The shopping cart is empty” is displayed instead of a text that contains, for example, the order number and reports the successful completion.

The redirect should actually work even without an entry in the “return URL” field.

Is there a solution for this?

Hi,

What you describe seems to indicate that the problem is not linked to the return URL.
If you provide the confirm page URL as return URL of a payment method, it is normal that you're redirected to a page with the “The shopping cart is empty” message. That's because the system will actually redirect to the confirm page of the checkout, but since the cart will already have been cleared, the checkout will redirect you to the empty cart page with that message.
So, this tells me that further tests are necessary.
Maybe the EPS redirect back issue was a spurious one ? If you empty the return URL setting, are you still able to reproduce the issue ?

Ok. But I'm not able to reproduce the issue on my end.
Could you reproduce the issue after activating the "debug" setting of the PayPal Checkout payment method ?
It will produce debug data in the "payment log file" of the HikaShop configuration page:

Could you provide that log ?
