Hello,

A non professional trying to set up a hikashop in joomla here.

1.)I have made an online store selling bikes which has a different range for each year (2012 bikes, 2013 bikes etc). If I specify that the 2013 bikes are available from 26.02.2013, I lose the "add to cart" button. Is there any way I can keep the button so that customers can pre-order?

2.) Many of the bikes will not be in stock, but will have a just-in-time delivery with a lead time of 2 to 4 weeks (for example). Is there a way that I can add a custom field to the product front end to show this lead time, so that customers can see it before beginning the checkout process? (I only managed to make custom fields appear at checkout so far)

Many thanks,

Kevin

Hi there,

For your first problem you should just specify in your product description that the product is available at this date so people will still be able to order it.
About your second issue I'm not sure what you want to display. If it's just a text then you have to create a new custom field of type "text" on the table "product" and check the display on front-end option.
Do not hesitate to ask if I misunderstood your questions ;)

Hello Eliot and thank you very much!

I made the custom text field with a default text by category.

Now my product page shows "availability from February 2013: 1-3 weeks"

Perfect! :woohoo:
