Disable all products of a particular brand

We've got 3 websites that sell the same products in 3 geographical areas. It's one company with one set of inventory, but due to distribution agreements with various manufacturers, they cannot sell some brands in certain areas. Is it possible to prevent products from displaying by unpublishing a brand?

Ok that makes sense. However, would the product still display to a user since the system wouldn't know where they are coming from until they login?

Yes, if you restrict your product to some shipping methods, your product will display, but will only be "purchasable" by using one of this shipping methods.

Ok, that's what I though. Due to the distribution agreements, we're not able to even advertise that we carry those items so they cannot display at all on the website, even if there is no way to purchase them.

I think the way to go will be to create a simple extension that unpublishes products for any brand that is unpublished.

Perfect! I was going to post a follow up question to see if there were any event triggers that could be used in either the import or product display that could be used to filter out the products. This makes it fairly simple to do then. Thank you!
