Some products with categories, some without

Hi - I have a very small list of products for my cart...I'd like to avoid having to use the categories page for my two main products, but then allow people to click into a category to see the full catalog.

I was able to do this with no problem, but now, I'd like to reverse the order of display on the store page... SO, I'd like to list the two main products first and then the category (which is, essentially, and "other" field).

Here is the link to the page that I'm wanting to do this on:
www.stutteringtherapyresources.com/index.php/str-store.html

You will see that the category appears first, under "Our Books" and then the two individual links for the main products appears second.

All I want to do is reverse that, so the products that don't have categories assigned appear first and then the one with the category appears below that (again, as sort of an "other" option).

Any guidance about how to do that? Info below...

Thanks!
Scott

Hi,

I see three solutions:
1. it is to edit the file "listing" of the view "category" via the menu display>Views and modify the code of the view in order to load the products listing associated module of your category listing menu at the top only on the first page and normally for the other page.
It requires a bit of knowledge of PHP.

2. You create an unpublished category and you move your two main products in that category. Then you create a products listing module via the joomal modules manager and you select that unpublished category as your module's parent category and you set its position to above the main content area of your pages..
Finally, you use Advanced Modules Manager to restrict the display of that module to only the first page. The defautl options of the Joomla Modules manager to not allow for such fine grained restrictions.

3. You create an unpublished category and you move your two main products in that category. Then you create a products listing module via the joomal modules manager and you select that unpublished category as your module's parent category and you set its position to above the main content area of your pages..
Then, you create a second module but for a listing of categories.
Then, you create a jooml article and use the "load position" mechanism of Joomla to add both modules into that joomla article
Finally you change the menu item type to display that joomla article and that should work like you want.
