-- url of the page with the problem -- : 192.185.143.110/~goodlook/store
-- HikaShop version -- : Essential: 2.3.0
-- Joomla version -- :3.3.0

I know this problem comes up alot but I've read through other threads and I'm stuck. I can see two containers that are showing the products. 1 is id="hikashop_category_information_menu_443" and the other is id="hikashop_category_information_module_159". Module 159 is assigned to menu id 443 so they are one and the same thing I believe. However module 159 is the only one that gets carried over to the category pages. It's like the menu item is forcing products to display (it is set to display products) but the module is also displaying them.

Hi,
The problem is that your "hikashop_category_information_module_159" hikashop content menu is listing product instead of categories, so you should :
- Set the "Type of content" option of your content menu to "category"

Or you'll probably find your answer through that thread :
www.hikashop.com/forum/checkout/867442-c...d-produc.html#152245

Your issue is coming from the fact that your product listing content menu which have the ID number 337 have an associated module with the ID number 231 which is also displaying the same products, so the solution will just be to :
- Go to Hikashop->Display->Content menus
- Edit the content menu which have the ID number 337
- Remove the Associated module

Well I need to set it to Products Listing because I only want the products listed there. If I leave it set as Product Listing and then turn off that module then only the products display on the "Store" link. They don't display on any of the category links on the right hand side. How can I have products display in Categories AND have the store set to Product Listing?

Go to Hikashop->Display->Content menus and edit your menu item with the id 443 and in the "select" button's popup of the "associated modules" option of your menu, disable the module with the id 159. That will avoid the products listing displaying twice on that page.

I understand that but if I do that, then no products show up under any categories. Look at the page and then click any of the categories in the module on the right. They do not show any products now.

That's another problem.
The issue with your categories listing module is that you need to select a menu item of the type "HikaShop categories listing" in the "menu" option that you can find when you edit your module via the menu Display>content modules.
Right now, you selected your store menu which is of the type "hikashop products listing" and not "hikashop categories listing" and that's why it requires an associated products listing module to display the products properly when you click on the links of your categories listing module.

I'm so completely lost. I'm sorry to be a hassle. But I'm not understanding what to do at all. Can you provide me clear instructions?

I need:
1. A Joomla menu item that shows the products called "Store"
2. A Joomla module that shows the categories called "Shop"
3. No categories show anywhere in the content
4. Products display under category items from "Shop" module.

I want no other menu items or modules.

Hi,

You need a category listing menu with a product listing module.
Like explained in our tutorial : www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...splay-front-end.html .

So, your point "2" is currently wrong because you don't want to display "categories" in the module, but "products".
