Hi
I have a strange problem:
I created 2 menus which leads to sub categories. one is from the products categories tree, the second from the manufacturers tree.
the first menu and it's subs are working fine,
but the second menu shows the sub categories but when i click on a sub category it doesn't show the products.
I spent all morning compering the two and reading in your form, and could not find an answer.

what could be the problem?

Hi,

That should work, could you give us a screenshot of how you configure the brand menu / associated module.
Does the product have an assignated brand in the product edition page ?

Here are the screenshots.
The brands interior name is "manufacturers", but even when i changed it to "brands"- it doesn't work.

is there a name issue i should pay attention to?
i should mention that when i add a category to a product from the brands tree the "brands/manufacturer" title doesn't show on the product's category list- just the sub category (attached files).

thank you.

Hi,

We didn't get any screenshot. Could you try again to post them (maybe one at a time ?) ?
What do you mean by "interior name" ?

took me some time but i uploaded all the screenshots.
by interior name i mean- not the name that shows on the category tree, but the one you see when you enter the category details.
for example: when i look at the category tree i see "brands" but when i enter to edit the category it shows me that the title is "manufacturers"- and "manufacturers" also shows in the "associated category" in the menu details.

Hello,
Note that on your Gillette manufacturer menu you should set the Type of content to "Brand".
Also, as Xavier said :

Does the product have an assignated brand in the product edition page ?

hi Mohamed

I tried to set it to brands, but it didn't applied the change i needed.
i don't need a list of brands- i need that when i click a brand already in the menu, it will show me the categories of products listed with specific brand.
and to Xavier :
yes, the products have assigned brands in the drop down at the product edition page

Hi Nicolas or Xavier or ?,

FYI, just ended talking with allbiz. Sorry for jumping in - only trying to "translate" to your classic terminology.

Good news: It's all much simpler than it maybe came across initially, and allbiz is ok with the HikaShop basics... which is why she deleted all screenshots. They happened to be misleading.

Left-over question in a simple format: How to do a category listing by manufacturer?
So, imagine you have menu items for manufacturers (one menu item each), then clicking a manufacturer displays a div listing of product categories, and finally a click on these product categories displays a div product listing of all products in this category from this manufacturer only.
allbiz tried, I tried, and with out-of-the-box menus and modules we both failed.

Is it possible with menus or modules at all (and we're just too dumb)?
Or would it be possible with filters? (How? I think a hint or two would be very helpful.)

Note: allbiz has two sublevels of product categories under "Product category", just to make it a tad more interesting, haha.
So, like this:

Product category:
   + Cat A
       - Cat A1
       - Cat A2
       - Cat A3
   + Cat B
       - Cat B1
       - Cat B2
       - Cat B3
etc...

With this I'm out -thanks from my end, and sure allbiz will thank you herself once all is clearer. ;)

Hi,

Mixing dynamically brands and categories in listing menus is not possible.

Then, in that case, I would recommend to just not use brands (= manufacturers) and have them as your first level of categories.
That will mean having several times the same categories, one per brand, and when you add a category to a product, you need to select the category of the brand.
Then, when you create a category listing menu item per brand (first level category), you'll get a list of the categories of that brand and then the products in these categories, like you want.
