In my shop I have one main category called Fire Extinguishers. Inside of Fire Extinguishers I have 3 other categories called Size, Type, UL Rating. Inside of those three categories I have multiple categories.

I created a menu item for Type. When you click that link you go to a page that shows all the sub categories inside of Type. If you click on one of those links you see all the products. It works great.

I copied the menu item for Type since it worked. I changed the name to Size and changed the associated category to Size. So now when you click on the menu item for Size, you see all the sub categories inside of it. However, when you click on one of those links, it just refreshes the page, adds the category name to the URL but does not show any products.

I have deleted everything and started from scratch twice, but I get the same results every time.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

When editing the settings of the category listing menu, you have to associate a module in order to display the products.
It's this module which need to be correctly set to display the content.

Thanks to check if there is an associated module, if the filtering is for "sub element" or more, etc.

Thank you for the quick reply. However, I do not think this is my problem. On the category that works, I have NO modules associated with it, but it works.
Here is the Category that IS working. You can see that it has no modules associated to it. However, when you click on the category you can see the products:

And here is the Category that is NOT working.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

There is an associated module ;)
In the option "Associated modules", you can see that there is a value, in this case the module named "Associated products for category listing menu 322".

So for the non-working listing, thanks to edit the options of the module "Associated products for category listing menu 329"

Thank you for the help, but when I edit the module options, it looks like the products are turned on and should show up. See the screenshot...

What am I missing here?

Thanks!

Yes ! As Xavier said, the problem is with the settings of that module, not whether the module was enabled or not in the associated modules option of the menu.
So you need to click on the link of the module name in order to access the settings of the module itself and check the options of the module (and mainly the sub element filter one as Xavier said, the recently viewed option which should be turned off, the synchronize with current element option which should be turned on etc).

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate your help.

It looks like he module settings are the same for both the working and non-working categories.
Here is the module for the one that works...

Here is the module for the one that does not work...

Just to review. I have a menu item called TYPE. It links to a HikaShop Category Listing. When you click on that menu link, you see the 11 categories inside the category TYPE. When you click on one of those sub-categories you see the products. It works great. I did not change the settings of the HikaShop modules that I know of. So, I copied that menu item and changed the name to SIZE and linked it to the Size category. When you click on SIZE you see the 14 sub-categories inside the SIZE category. However, when you click on any of those sub-categories, it reloads the page, changes the URL and does NOT show the products.

This must be something simple, or something I did wrong, but I am not sure why it is taking a week to figure out. I have to get this worked out soon, the client is worried.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

@PixelPerfectCreative The issue is that your products have an alias which starts with a number and that you have turned on the "Remove products and categories id in URLs" option of the configuration.
Turning off that option like I did, or entering an alias not starting with a number in your products will solve the problem.
