We would like to have a drop down multilevel menu with categories and products. Also to have an accordion sidebar menu that does the same. We would like to replicate the "Product" menu and the sidebar on the products pages from this site http://www.supermicro.com/products/index.cfm . The sidebar may not need to open all subcategories as the example site shows.

Is this possible with Hikashop and how would we go about implementing it.

Many Thanks!

Hello,
Reading that thread will probably help you : www.hikashop.com/forum/4-how-to/65366-accordion-menu.html#65395

Few accordion menus exist for Hikashop like Skyline Nested Accordion or CKmenu ( and it patch ).
About your problem, since I don't know what you are using to generate this menu I can't really help you.

Sorry, I should have explained what I a looking for a little more clearly. :) Thanks for the link but it isn't the same issue as I am having.

I am using the standard Hikashop "Category on 1 level module." It is working fine. (see http://newweb33.astekcorp.com ). What I would like to do is add the products to this when the sub-category is "opened," see below. Is it possible?

For example:
* Category 1
   - Sub-category 1
      + Product 1
      + Product 2
   - Sub-category 2
* Category 2
(etc.)

Many Thanks!

Hi,

It's indeed not the same issue but the answer is actually the same.
HikaShop has no option to display the products below the categories in the category module and the simplest solution is to use a 3rd party module like the Skyline one which can handle the display like you want.
But if you want to implement it, that's still possible. You would have to edit the file listing_list of the view category via the menu Display>Views and add custom code to load the products, and manage the display. But from my perspective, it will cost you a lot more in time than just purchasing a module that already does that.
