Showing categories but not products

Hello

first I want to thank you for your amazing shopping component with great features!

I don't know why when I choose menu item to show categories it still shows products beneath categories, I want a menu item to show categories only.

Hi,

You're using a "category listing" menu which generally come with a "product listing" module.
You can read more about the menus and modules in our tutorial on the "front-end content display" :

one more thing, the address shown in browser for the store has to be like this ? " www.mysite.com/com_virtuemart_menu_store...tore/STORE-NAME.html " it is very long and seems not nice.

can I short it?

It doesn't have to be like that.
The com_virtuemart_menu_store/com_virtuemart_menu_store/light-store piece of the URL comes from the alias of the parent menu item.
You could edit the menu item via the menu manager of Joomla and enter a simple alias like "store" instead of "com_virtuemart_menu_store/com_virtuemart_menu_store/light-store".
It's definitely not like that by default in HikaShop since "virtuemart" comes from the name of another ecommerce extension.

sorry you right I didn't paid attention it's something related to virtuemart. It's weird because alias is "light-store" only , and the menu item is root and has not any "com_virtuemart_menu_store/com_virtuemart_menu_store" before it

i installed virtuemart before this but I removed it then

the more weird thing is that I tried to create a new fresh menu item for hikashop but it ads "com_virtuemart_menu_store/com_virtuemart_menu_store" before menu name!
do you have any idea how can I fix this?

Hi,

It doesn't come from HikaShop or the menu item.
It comes either from the parent menu item of the menu or its "menu" setting.
How about using instead one of the menu items that already pre exist and that are created by HikaShop at the installation and stored in the "HikaShop Default Menus" element of your Joomla menu manager ?
These probably won't have the issue.

solved the problem! I used Check in and rebuild from menu options and seems it flushed and rebuilt some options or database entries and made it right :P Thanks!
