Displaying random categories and products

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.4
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5

When viewing this category it displays tax and brand categories and all the products in the KF category.

Client is adding products so I checked and it seems the backend is configured correctly and consistent with all other listings.

I'm stumped!

Hi,

Go in the menu Display>Content menus and edit your menu (id 471). There, make sure that you select the "product category" category in the "associated category" setting of the menu.

Hi,

This means that the system is not able to find the category of the link based on the alias in the link.
So the issue is with the category alias. Please make sure that the alias of the category correspond to the text of the category in the URL. It will then work.
A simple solution to circumvent these issues is to turn off the "remove categories and products ids from URLs" in the HikaShop configuration.
That will add back the ids in the URLs and the system won't have to rely on the alias of the elements to be able to load the elements.

I always go for the simple option so turned off "remove categories and products ids from URLs" in the HikaShop configuration. But problem still persists.

Hi,

If it doesn't change anything, it means that you have canonical URLs in your products/categories and that you have the "force canonical URLs on listings" and thus you still have the old URLs (or you have some cache on your website which can also prevent you from seeing the change).

I still have this problem - I do not use canonical URL's.

Please can you help sort this - the client is getting angry and it is way beyond me.

Are you still using HikaShop 2.4 or are you using the latest one (2.5.0) ?
Before going further in the investigation ; would it be possible to have a screenshot of your HikaShop SEF configuration ?

Hi,

We got your access.
You didn't mention that you were using sh404SEF. This extension generate the SEF URLs instead of HikaShop and caches the results on its end. So that's why you didn't see any change when changing the settings in HikaShop.
I deleted all the URLs in sh404SEF for the category "L-SERIES LINEAR - PNEUMATIC ACTUATOR" and now the link to that category is correct on your website and working.
So you might need to do the same for other categories if you have problems with them.
