Category Got Corrupted

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.5.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6

One of our categories messed up and I don't know how. One of our employees was just making price changes. Some of the products doubled themselves several times and on the front end 2 drop down boxes appeared and we don't know why. I've attached a file, the boxes are highlighted. We paid a developer to create this cart using Hikashop and he didn't always follow the normal ways of doing things. Can anyone shed any light on how to get rid of these boxes? Also should we just try to clean up the category or delete it and recreate it? Will deleting it mess up any existing orders? Thanks for any help!

I deleted the extra products (108 extras) and one of the boxes went away, but the empty drop down is still there. Any ideas?

We're not able to access the page as the shop is in maintenance. So hard to analyse the situation and tell you what to do.

Taken the site out of maintenance now so that you can look. When I went into the category there was a 3rd blank characteristics which I deleted but I think it left the box that is still showing on the front end. How do we get to that page to delete the coding?

If you look at the coding of the page from: x-raynews.com/products/product/63-one-ye...scription-10-credits . There is a line that shouldn't be there. I've added a screen shot of the code with the offending code highlighted. Where can we find this code so that we have access to it?

Hi,

It looks like your variants are assigned with a characteristic which does not exist anymore ; that's why there is no label for the characteristic and that the dropdown is empty.
Would it be possible to have a screenshot of your product configuration in the HikaShop backend (for the characteristic part) ?
And also a screenshot for the content in the variant tab.

Afterwards, we might need an access to your website and also an access to your database ; in order to investigate and understand how you got that data.

Hope I have what you need. Screenshots of our characteristics, the characteristics being used in the category Subscriptions which some how added 108 records, and finally some of the variants in Subscriptions.

Hi,

Why did you wrote that you're using HikaShop 2.5.0 when you are in fact using HikaShop 2.4.0 ?
Best for you will be to update in order to have latest patches, latest fixes ; then you could re-save your products and see if the new algorithm solve the problem.
Afterwards, I'll need the same screenshots I asked but with the HikaShop 2.5.0 interface.

Mainly because I thought the about said 2.5 and what difference does that make with this problem. It happened in 2.4, I need to fix it in 2.4. To move up to 2.5 is a bit more involved for us because the developer made changes that don't survive an update.

New development, we can't update any prices. If we do the cart stops working for that variant of the product. Still have not been able to update to 2.5. Going to try again now.

Finally upgraded to 2.5 thru FTP. But still can't change prices and getting a 403 Access Forbidden error. I've not had a response from support for over 7 hrs.

We are only having a problem with this one category and variants. I'm thinking about deleting it and recreating it to see if it will work since I'm not getting any help from support.

Hi,

We try to answer to everyone under 24h.
7h is impossible. Remember that we too sleep at night.
More than that, we reply to older messages first, wich means that every time you reply to your own message, you loose your place in the queue (and you made 6 replies to your own message).

An FTP installation was indeed the solution for the update.

Afterwards, we might need an access to your website and also an access to your database ; in order to investigate and understand how you got that data.

We don't have such problems on our end with the latest version and not one reported such issue.
So please provide a backend (+ database) access and an exact procedure for us to reproduce the issue so that we can analyze the situation.
You can use the "contact us" form to send us such private information (with a link to that forum thread so the support team will know what do to).

Good to know. I will stop replying and just add onto the original message after this reply. Got the cart working by myself by deleting the category and products and recreating them. There is a problem with 2.5 and variants. I have attached the screen shots. If you click on a variant you get the first screen, if you X out you get the 2nd and so on until you completely X out of that pop-up and finally come to the variant screen. This happens on all variants. We are adjusting our products so that we no longer have to go into a variant to make chances so this no longer affects our cart. I will be away from work for 2 weeks, one reason I was in a panic to get this fixed, but will get back to it at that time if there are any suggestions to act upon.

Hi,

That's because Joomla 3 changed the way popups works between your version and the latest. So the latest version of HikaShop is compatible only with the latest version of Joomla 3.x
Update your Joomla and it will work properly.
