How to remove product from Category Listing

This is a confusing setting. when i create a menu for category listing it's showing some product under category listing. i tried many way to remove it but not success. also when i click on category category image showing on product listing. how to solve it?

You have to edit the settings of your category listing menu and in the "product options" tab set the option "Sub element filter" on "Direct sub elements" instead of "all sub elements".

And in the "category options" tab disable the option "Show image".

I had it set up as you explained, and I see the products below the subcategories.

Not success to remove product from category page please check those attachment. there also two notice:

Product Page Category image fixed but i think it's confusing to user. why i need to off product page category thumb in category setting? what you think, isn't confusing setting?

Hi,

So you maybe have a module displayed on that menu page, or your products have the main category as category too.
Please check in the product edition pages the linked categories, if the main category is present, so it is normal that the products are displayed.

Please check that you don't have an override on the view "product / listing", if it is please do a backup of the code, and remove the override, this can potentially cause the issue.

For the category image, this should maybe be in the product part indeed. We will think about that.

Hi Xavier, You are right, it was selected some product with root product category. it's now working well.
