-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.8

Good morning,

I ran into a problem with hikashop nog displaying the correct template with the product display on subdomains. A little explaining in advanced:

We have multiple sites running on the same Joomla backend which are controlled by a virtual domain controller.
This virtual domain controller is in charge of dispaying the websites template and menu items depending on the access URL.

Each website has it's own product category displayed by hikashop. It gave me some problems in the past but you managed to fix this for me.

Another problem has surfaced now:

When I look at the product display (both listing and detail) in the normal URLS, the basic website template is not changed. When I do the same for the subdomains the general website template is being changed to the first template in my template folder.

Is there a way to alter the the the php in the product listing and product detail view so it won't meddle with the general template?

Kind regards,

Chantal van Ree

Hi,

HikaShop has no code to change the template being used on the pages.
If you have a different template between the listing and some products from it, it probably means that you've specified a canonical URL in these products and that the canonical URL goes to another menu item than the menu item of the listing, and that you configured different templates for different menu items and that you have the "force canonical URLs on listings" setting of the HikaShop configuration activated.
So please check these.

Hi Nicolas,

I checked all the canonical URL's, and there are none. SEF setting is set to No and both category's and products have no specified canonical URL's in them.
But it gave me an idea. I tried using the canonical URL in order to fix this. But unfortunately this did not solve my problem.

Kind regards,

Chantal

Hi,

In any case, as far as I can see, the problem is in the way the virtual domain controller handle the switch of the template.
There should be something to change in it as there is no reason it should behave differently on different pages of the same menu item.
I would recommend contacting the developer of the virtual domain controller you're using so that he can have a look at the issue.

Hi Nicholas,

Neither Virtual Domains nor hikashop caused the problem.

Problem was caused by a FTP upload of the banner to the wrong folder (of the wrong template) resulting in this problem. Hikashop used the correct path only leading to an incorrect image.

Kind regards,

Chantal
