Hi. I have reviewed the Hikashop categories listing displaying div/div etc. I want to have categories table. Then subcategories of categories with products nested on one looong page. See image attached.

This allowes a page viwer to make one click to choose the category and then can just scroll down the subcategories with product listings under each.

How would I set this up?

Hello,

To manage this you have to first create main categories and in their own subcategories, here on Components => HikaShop => Categories.

Later in all your products configuration just set the required sub-category (or maybe several) in Components => HikaShop => Products.

Last step, configure your categories listing Menu item, here in Menus => Menu item and look for (default) Categories listing.
in configuration page have a look on Categories Options tab, and look for Data display part and change Sub elements filter option for Grouped by category.

Hope this will help.

Regards,

Hi Philip.

two questions:

1. There is a many to one relationship between the subcategories and the main category.

If I repeat a name for one of the subcategories [Which I need to do, as the headings are the same] although for a different main category it is not allowed. How do i cope with that?

2. "in configuration page have a look on Categories Options tab, and look for Data display part and change Sub elements filter option for Grouped by category."

I found the subelements filter option it does not have "grouped by category' as a choice it just has "direct sub elements" and "all sub elements"

Your time is much appreciated

Hi,

1. There is no problem. You can have several categories/sub categories with the same name. There is no such restriction.
Based on how your SEF links are constructed, you might want a different alias for them though, but it can work with the same alias in some cases.

2. I think Philippe wanted to say to change the direct sub elements setting in the "products options" tab of your menu item.
