Hello,

I'm having trouble with the frontend product display show wrong items under wrong category.

As you can see from the Explorer root, the original root name is changed and there are 2 exactly same category below. Used to be only 1 product category.

Can you please advise where I can move the category or delete the duplicate category under the explorer? Will this also delete the products I uploaded?

Also, When I click the Products on my website, www.zippgroup.com and it used to show one of the category on the right hand side but now it is empty until I click on the product sub menu. Can you please let me know why? Thanks

Look forward to hearing back from you soon,

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Regards,

William

Hello,

For your categories tree : have you use the "Rebuild" function ?
You can find it, here in Components => HikaShop => Categories.

For your listing product display : several points can leads to this, and maybe your categories tree issue can be linked to this.
But if you succeed to rebuild your categories tree and that don't solve your displayed issue can you provide a screenshot of your related item menu configuration and more especially your Categories Options tab ?

Awaiting news from you.

Regards

Can you please help? This is emergency.......please....

I've created a user account for you to check on my Joomla CMS.

Also, the menu root tree is still the same contains 2 duplicate categories. The main root's name is now showing as "industrial air drill" but it wasn't like this before and there should be just 1 single "Product category". Not sure what happened and how to combine them into 1 category. Can you please help or advise step by step instruction to see how to fix it? Thank you very very much.

Also, I have attached the Product category option for your reference.

Look forward to hearing back from you soon.........

Again, thank you for your kind assistance.

Regards,

William

Hi,

The issue is that you have a problem with the way you moved around the categories.
The rebuild button can usually fix smalle problems, but this time a backend access won't be enough.
You need to go in your phpmyadmin and open the hikashop_category.
There, make sure that the categories' category_parent_id correspond to the category_id of the parent category you want for each category, with the root category having 0 in that category_parent_id field.
Once the categories' category_parent_id values are ok, click on the "rebuild" button and it should put things back to normal.

PS: please don't post credentials like that on a public forum. Anyone can now access your backend.
Please change your admin credentials ASAP.
If you need to provide credentials, please use our contact form:

Hi,

On you're screenshot, you're looking at the hikashop_product_category table. In my previous message, I'm talking about the hikashop_category table.
So you're not looking at the correct table.
Look at the correct table and you'll see the category_id and category_parent_id columns I'm talking about. It should then make more sense.

Hi there,

Please refer to the attached photo showing the category I found and I've changed the ROOT parent id to 0 as you instructed.

Please let me know if there's anything else I should change.

Also, when you say categories' category_parent_id correspond to the category_id. Do you mean I need to change the value of category_parent_id to the same value showing under category_id ?

Look forward to hearing back from you soon,

Regards,

William

Hi,

Yes, the root should be like that.
And for the others, the category_parent_id should correspond to the category_id of the parent category.
So for example, the "product category" category_parent_id should correspond to the category_id of the root category since it's his parent category. And you can see that it is already the case, so nothing to change there for this one.

Once the category_parent_id value of the categories look fine, click on the "rebuild" button of the categories listing and it should then display fine.
