breadcrumbs gives different URL structure

-- url of the page with the problem -- : 181.224.148.114/~carra2/
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.2
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : chrome

I am trying to get the URLs working in a predictable and logical manner. I am getting close but note that I am getting two different URL's for the same product

going via the front page the steps are:

181.224.148.114/~carra2/
181.224.148.114/~carra2/bags/category/panniers
181.224.148.114/~carra2/bags/super-c-rear-panniers

but if you click on the breadcrumbs it gives the additional 2nd level category that is removed by hikashop (akthough I have created a menu item for the 2nd level category)

181.224.148.114/~carra2/bags
181.224.148.114/~carra2/bags/panniers

which is really how I would prefer both to be

Its not a good idea to have duplicate URL's and also it is a bit confusing for customers

With simplified breadcrumbs turned off it still removes the sub category from the URL and gives a strange URL with a category pathway added

eg

181.224.148.114/~carra2/bags/super-c-rea.../category_pathway-33

whereas logically it should be

181.224.148.114/~carra2/bags/panniers/super-c-rear-panniers/

to match the category structure

I seemed to have come up with a solution

1) simplified breadcrumbs on
2) set a menu item for each category matching the category structure - with a canonical URL specified
3) set use canonical urls and generate if missing

delete all current canonical urls in products if they have been generated already
