Product Listing - disable cart button also hides stock quantity

Hello,

For my product listing page, the display quantity field option doesn't seem do anything. If the add to cart button is enabled, then the stock quantity is shown correctly. However, if I turn the cart button to disabled the stock quantity goes away. This happens regardless of what the show quantity option is set to; enable or disable. This behavior was originally seen with version 2.6.4 and remained unchanged when I updated to 3.0.0.

Ultimately I am trying to have the quantity to show and the cart button to not show.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,

The "quantity field" is the input box which allow the customer to enter the quantity he want to add in his cart (or in the wishlist).
If there is no "add to cart" button (and not wishlist button) ; there is no need to display an input box for the quantity field.
So I'm afraid that the display is fine and that there is no bug or issue.

Hi Jerome,

I am sorry to say as a new user I got mixed up in terminology. What I am trying to figure out is the quantity of items in stock, not the quantity to add to the cart. So to restate my question;

Is it possible to hide the cart button, but still display the # of items in stock?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,

Why not simply hide the add to cart button with some CSS ?

Here is a tutorial which explains how to add/modify the CSS of HikaShop:

Hi Nicolas,

Sure, it would be possible to add custom css to hide the button on the product listing page. However it is more desirable to keep these kind of basic settings together with the main Hika config settings. There is already an "add to cart" enable/disable option on the product options tab. As it is described, this option should only affect the cart button. The bug that I am reporting is that it also affects the stock quantity display as well. My official request is as follows;

1) Fix the "add to cart" enable/disable to ONLY modify the show/hide property of the add to cart button.
2) Add a "show stock listing" enable/disable option to the product listings page.

If this isn't clear, I can add some screenshots.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,

That's because the stock message is displayed together with the add to cart system.
So when you enable/disable the add to cart option, it also affects the display of the stock.

I understand what you mean. I was just trying to provide a solution to your situation because even if we were to add such option in a future version, you would have to wait for months for it. While adding custom CSS to do that would allow you to do it right now.

Thank you for your feedback. We'll keep that in mind for future improvments.

Hi Nicolas,

Yep, we are on the same page. I will try the CSS and will look for the improvements in an upcoming release.

Thanks again,
Rob
