Good Day!

This is what I want to achieve (possibly not precisely but as close as possible) - webprinter.co.za/?page=business-cards

Looking at that page you will notice its an Online Business Card Ordering system.
I would like to have the same.... So a visitor has neatly defined steps of attributes they can select from, that changes the base Price of the Original Parent Product.

Am I correct in assuming that this can only be done in Hikashop Essential with PRODUCT OPTIONS?

Would it be possible to my Hikashop Product Layout sort of the same?

Hi,

You can have characteristics on your product so that you can have the base price of the product changing based on the selection of the characteristic. You can see an example here:
demo.hikashop.com/index.php/en/hikashop/...with-characteristics
This could potentially be used for the "HOW MANY DO YOU WANT TO PRINT?" option.
Characteristics selection can be displayed as a dropdown or radio buttons.
And you can have at the same time options on the product which add their costs to the base price based on what you select in them:
demo.hikashop.com/index.php/en/hikashop/...ct-page/with-options
This could be used for the other options on that page. However, options can only be displayed as dropdowns.
HikaShop also has custom item fields that can be used to display more advanced forms (and can be combined with characteristics and options):
demo.hikashop.com/index.php/en/hikashop/product-page/with-form
However, these can't change the price of the product.
Characteristics are available in all the editions, options in the Essential and the Business editions, and custom item fields only with the Business edition.

There is no system to separate the options or display radios for options.
However, HikaShop has tools so that you can customize its display. With CSS, you can already do a lot and if you know some PHP/javascript, you would be able to achieve a display similar.
We have some documentation on customization of the CSS/views here:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...ize-the-display.html

Hi Nicolas, Thank you for the reply.

Thats good news it seems that we will be able to do what we need to.

A question though.... I noticed the BASE price does not change and only the : Price with options.
This may be confusing to some people. Perhaps a good idea to have it as in my attachment and have the Price with options much larger.
1) Would this be possible?

2) To be clear are these the custom item fields you are referring to? - demo.hikashop.com/index.php/en/hikashop/product-page/with-form (I am not sure why you mentioned these as I can't see why we will use them)

Hi,

1. When you change an option, the base price doesn't change, only the total. However, if you change a characteristic selection, the base price will change.
The size of each price is just a matter of CSS. We're using a template called JSN glass pro and the CSS of that template displays the base price bigger than the price with options. That won't be the case if you don't use that template and that can be changed easily with a bit of CSS.

2. When a selector doesn't need to change the price of the product, a custom field can be interesting. For example, you can add it to a category and all the products in that category will get the custom field. While for options, you need to manage that product by product. I'm just mentioning that as a possibility so that you know it exists as it might be useful to you at some point.

Thanx for your reply Nicolas and thank you for mentioning the Custom Fields part.

I bought the essential version but I am having issues with saving prices as per this post : www.hikashop.com/support/forum/4-how-to/...ve-price.html#272708
