-- url of the page with the problem -- : keystroke.ca/category/Categories/act-add-ons
-- HikaShop version -- : 3.1.1
-- Joomla version -- : current
-- PHP version -- : 5.6
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : any
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : no error, wrong display

Our variant for 5 or more products are not showing a per unit price, they show the 5 or more price. We have set the unit price to default yet it is still showing a variant for the main price on the shop. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi,

The way you configured your product won't work for what you want to do.
You need to either:
- Not have any variants/characteristics and just configure the different prices on the product itself. The system will then pick automatically the price of the product in the cart based on the quantity of the product.
- Have variants without any "minimum quantity" restriction and have one variant for each quantity that you want the customers to allow.

So. you are telling me that it can not be done? it is very misleading when a potential buyer shows up on the page and sees the text when you buy 5 or more and there is a unit price for 1 in the system. Removing the min. order when the discount is for 5 or more would allow the end user to purchase 1 at the price of 5 with no audit trail.... that is also not a viable option. there has to be a way to fix this. I can not imagine that this is overlooked.
Variables are needed for our quantity pricing discount and other add on options. so there must be a way around this.

Hi,

I don't understand what you mean. Both solutions I propose should allow you to do what you want without the customer being mislead or being able to purchase something that he isn't supposed to, unlike what you have actually with the way you configured your product.

Now I've checked your website and I see that you've used the minimum/maximum quantity restriction of the variants so that the way you configured it could actually work. But that creates an issue on the listing with the price being used. To fix that without having to change the way you setup your product, you can change the "Which price" setting of the menu item so that it would use the unit price always, or display a range, etc. An alternative is to specify the price that you want to display on the listing in the main product. That way, the system will ignore the variant prices on the listing.
