20page.com/index.php/products-and-estima...mailbox-wall-mounted , search for american and it brings up nothing, i have tried changing the filter but it seems to have made it worse,,,,i just want it to findand shu or title or description

Hello,

1 - You might want to remove the category restriction in your filter configuration.
2 - You need to check the settings of your filter module in order to use a specific HikaShop menu which will be able to display your products.

If you consider that the filtering is performing on the category "street lamps" but your HikaShop product listing menu is configured to display product from the category "product category" and with no display of the "all sub elements" ; by default your listing would be empty so there is nothing to filter.

Hello,

In HikaShop there is no "search" feature but there is a "filter" feature.
It means that you first need to have a Joomla menu which allow you to display all the content that you want to "filter" (or: search into).
So, you need to create a product listing menu which will display all your products.

www.hikashop.com/support/documentation.html
Click on the tile "Tutorials" in order to access to the list of our tutorials, including some videos

And if you want to know more about the filters :
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...hop-filter-form.html

And please note that if you want a search you can use the Joomla search system.
HikaShop provides two products allowing Joomla to search into the products and the categories.

Hi,

are you telling me it will not search for product id skus?

That's not what I wrote.

I wrote that filters can only filters on a listing of products.
And don't worry, they can perform a filtering on the product SKU without any issue.
But you need to have content to filter.

I have done what your instruction says and it still does not work

For what I can see, you change the HikaShop filter into a regular Joomla search.

there developer said your filter module has a error

How so ? Do you/they have more details about that error ?
Please try it yourself and go in our demo website : demo.hikashop.com
You will find a HikaShop filter module in the left column. Just type "shoe" and validate.
you will see that our filtering system is working perfectly fine.

Sir,,,,when the templaza.com/ who is listed on your website as a template provider say it wont work and there is a error then there would seem to be a problem

Yes I changed it to the joomla search because at least it finds something,,,I setup a hika menu for all product all categories and added into the module and it finds nothing, templaza.com/ said there was a error but did not say what , said i had to contact you,,,I dont know if its there tempate or hika,,,but I have been messing with this for days and it wont work,,,,,

It sounds like you are talking about using one of the core Joomla search plugins, not HikaShop filtering.

There are two different Joomla core search plugins that come with Joomla CMS. One is the classic search, the other is a newer "Smart Search".

HikaShop has search plugins that work for searching products or categories, but only with the classic Joomla search. If you are trying to use the Smart Search, it won't work. Switch to the classic Joomla search and then configure and enable these two HikaShop plugins:

- HikaShop products search plugin
- HikaShop categories search plugin

If you really want to use the newer Joomla Smart Search with HikaShop, you'll need custom development or to use a 3rd party search option. There are no standard HikaShop search plugins that work with it.

Hope this helps!
