-- HikaShop version -- : 3.1.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.7.5

1) When I get to the product details of a product, for example:
Categories listing » Women » Shoes » Flats, and I click on a shoe in the "Flats" category, the breadcrumb then changes to this:
Categories listing » Iflex Akkyland Gold Leather Flats Shoes

Why would it not continue to look like the below and how can I make it do that?
Categories listing » Women » Shoes » Flats » Iflex Akkyland Gold Leather Flats Shoes

2) And, how do I remove "Categories listing" or change the wording?

Thank you.

Hi,

1. You need to turn off the "simplified breadcrumbs" setting for that.

2. That's the name of your menu item. So change the name of your menu item in the Joomla menu manager.

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for that... however I'd prefer to leave the name as is but not display it. Can I hide the "categories listings" part?

Thanks!

Hello,

As Nicolas wrote :

HikaShop can add elements into the breadcrumb but the Joomla core is doing the first "steps" and the addition of the menu in the breadcrumb is made by Joomla.

I understand what Nicolas said. I assume that first part, "categories listings" or what ever I rename it to, cannot be removed/hidden?

I wanted it to start with the category name, so instead of:
Categories listing » Women » Clothing » Dresses » Relaxed Fit Tribal Print Button up Front Shirt Dress

I would have:
Women » Clothing » Dresses » Relaxed Fit Tribal Print Button up Front Shirt Dress

So, I just want to know if it can be removed or hidden.

Thanks!

Hello,

Maybe ; but that's not related to HikaShop.
My message is just explaining that it's not HikaShop which add that "category listing", so it's just related to Joomla and if you want to add some custom code in your views in order to modify the Joomla breadcrumb, that's possible. But it requires some custom code related to the Joomla breadcrumb.

So I'm having another issue with this.

I am using the "Skyline HikaShop Accordion" menu but I was having the same issue with it as I was having here:
www.hikashop.com/forum/install-update/89...-with-same-name.html

The developer changed "Remove products and categories id in URLs" from YES to NO for it to work but now I'm back to the original issue I was having. So he told me to contact HikaShop.

It would be great if you guys developed this kind of menu to work with HikaShop without us having to use someone elses and having to go back and fort when there is an issue :(

If you can create such an amazing product like HikaSHop why not the menu too?

Hi,

There is already the "categories listing on 2 levels" module that is an accordion module for HikaShop categories.
It works relatively similar to the Skyline module you're talking about. The main difference being that the module we provide only supports 2 levels of categories and might have less options than theirs (I've never used it so I don't know).
If your question is "why the module provided by default doesn't support more than 2 levels of categories", it's because we initially thought that 2 levels would be enough for most cases, and 3rd party developers released interesting alternatives and thus there were enough solutions so that we prefered working on other parts of HikaShop.

Hi Nicolas,

I'm not sure why there would be a limit on the menu, especially because it's for products that usually has many categories/levels. I don't have the skills to access that but it doesn't make sense to me. I've been using your product for many years and was hoping the menu would be updated/improved at some point by now so we don't have to use 3rd party stuff.

Anyway, the "simplified breadcrumbs" and "Remove products and categories id in URLs" is turned off. Is there anyway to leave them turned off but get the breadcrumb to work like this?

- Categories listing » Women » Clothing » Dresses » Relaxed Fit Tribal Print Button up Front Shirt Dress

When I'm viewing the product details the path changes to this:

- Categories listing » Relaxed Fit Tribal Print Button up Front Shirt Dress

Thanks!

Hello,

The breadcrumb is generated via the settings of the menu and the current product.
If you use the "category pathway", you will have by definition a good working breadcrumb since the information of the category that you're coming from is giving in the parameters.
Otherwise, you need to have a "correct" product listing so HikaShop can be sure of the place/category you're coming from.
For example if you display "all sub elements", all products would be available from the "root" so there is no breadcrumb to display since the customer could access to the product in the first page and not having to go throw the different sub categories.
And please note that it's still the same working behavior than before. It's the same logic that you had when you started using HikaShop !
