Trying to figure out how to NOT show my custom fields on my product listings. I want them to show on the actual listing page, but not in the listing_img when displaying a lot of products in a certain category. I think I've selected all the places on the back end the ask to show custom fields and have set them to "No" but still showing up. Do I need to modify template files? Seems like I shouldn't have to. All I want to show is the product title, image, and link to the product page--not the custom fields. Thoughts?

Hello,

Can you show us some screenshots of :
- How you configured your custom field
- Where your custom field is displayed and shouldn't be displayed

Thank you.

Sure here are screenshots of the back end and then the listing page that shows my three sample products with custom fields displayed. I don't want all the fields to display here only the image (which I haven't added yet) and the title. All the custom fields I just want to show on the individual product pages themselves.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The setting in your screenshot is the default setting for when you create new menu items. For existing ones, you have a display setting for custom fields directly under the "products options" tab of the menu item when you edit it via the Joomla menu manager.
Note however that these settings are for custom item fields. But on your other screenshot, I can see that these are custom product fields. And in that case, it's only the frontend products listing display setting in the custom field which dictates whether the field should display or not on the listings of the frontend.

Thanks Nicolas. So is there a way to hide the product custom fields on the product/listing_div and only show them on the main product pages (product/show)? All I want on the listing page is the image and title and the link to the product page (like what's shown in demos)?

I've played around with it and found if I choose the img_pane parameter for divs then the custom fields disappear. However, none of my links work from that page. When I hover over the image, the image fades out but it is not linked to anything. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Hello,

To do that you'll just have to :
- Go to your custom field configuration page via "Hikashop->Display->Custom fields"
- Enable the "Front-end" option and disable the "Front-end Listing" one through the "Display" tab.

Using the img_pane display is not recommended in your case.

I checked those and the configurations are how you say they should be. I changed back to Image and Title (rather than img_pane) and still have custom fields showing. And not sure what happened, but now everything is in a single narrow column on the left. Strange. I've cleared cache, browser history, etc. Crazy. I'm getting frustrated with it. Hi,

No, we're talking about the numerous display settings that you'll find when you edit the custom product field, not what you can see on the listing of the custom field. Please check there.
