Hello,

Yes it's possible to create a Joomla menu listing hikashop products, not that you can also filter these products based on their Brands/Categories using the "Main category" option of your menu's configuration page.

Mohamed,

Yea, I knew you could create a menu link to a product list as I've done that for years. It's just now Ihave a need to display products only for a specific tag / tags or I could use brand but, frankly, that would be the wrong way. I'm really a bit surprise that HikaShop doesn't offer this ability to display products strictly for a specific tag in a menu link. I know you can click on a tag in a product and it will display all products with that tag but the issue doing it that way is there is no 'accurate' url that I could create a link on using a system direct URL link. I would highly recommend that you consider adding this to a future to-do list as it would be very useful for some situations. I've used the Joomla display by tag for quite a while now since they introduced tags in articles.

Hi,

The way the tags system of Joomla is made makes it really complex (I would dare to say almost impossible) to be able to filter products listings by tag. So there is no option to do that.
Even as a customization, I'm not sure that you would be able to implement that.
So while I agree that it would be great to be able to do that, I frankly don't see how we could do it unless the structure of tag system of Joomla was completely changed.
I would actually recommend using another solution.
For example, you could instead create a custom product field with all the product tags as values. Select the values in the custom field in each product. Then, have a filter on that custom field so that you could filter the products listing based on that custom field value.
Or create an unpublished category with subcategories that you would attach to the products as a second category. Or use brands.

Nicholas,

Actually. the solution was a lot easier than I thought! I simply added a new product category 'Featured', added that category to the products being featured, then created a module to display products for that category, created an article to use the 'loadposition' to display the module and then added a single article menu link. Worked great!

Sometimes the solution is there but you just have to think outside the box! LOL
