Hello,

Is the "Example for an advanced DatePicker XML" possible with the Simple Date Picker custom field type, as shown here: docs.joomla.org/Calendar_form_field_type

You can select the time in the date popup.

Thanks

Hello,

If you mean have a pop over when clicking on date input, the answer is yes.
For this you have to Switch the Display inline option to No, in the your Custom Fields configuration, then DATE PICKER OPTIONS part.
Hope this will fit your needs.

Regards

Hello,

The "Simple Date Picker" was actually developed to only handle dates and not hours, so it will actually require some code customization.

I think it is very useful to have a date picker even with the hours B)

Hi,

Usually, people don't need to select a precise time of the day. For example, for delivery date selection, the day is usually all that's needed, and when time is also needed, it's usually a time range (for example from 9 am to 10 am, or from 10 am to 11 am).
And to do that, you can create a second custom field of the type "single date picker" and enter the different time ranges you want to be available to the user).
You could even have two fields, one for the hours and one for the minutes if that's really necessary.

Hi Nicolas, I wanted to use HikaShop for a delivery food. It is essential to indicate the time. I think it will be useful for webmasters who use your magnificent HikaShop

Hi,

So you mean that as the shop owner, you want to be able to enter the time of the delivery in the order to let the customer know about it, is that correct ?
In that case, why not have a second custom field for the time of the delivery as I explained before ?

Hi,

The single date picker type has been removed as Joomla's calendar API didn't allow for many settings and caused issues due to the different ways it worked between Joomla 2.5, 3.x and 4.x.
Instead, you can use the "advanced date picker" type, which has more options and no compatiblity issue.

Creating minute intervals using the custom field of the type "single dropdown" takes too much time ;-(

Hi,

Ok, but then you ask your customer to provide a precise time to get delivered ?
Usually, on the ecommerce websites I go to, it's always a time interval I have to select.
And it seems more logical to me. That way, I can expect the package to arrive in that time interval.
If I was to select a precise time, I would expect the package to arrive at that time and I suppose that won't happen in real life. And thus I wouldn't know when the package would arrive and I would have to wait at home several hours around that time to make sure I'm there.
Sure, it's a bit more work to setup for you, but it seems better as a user. Or am I missing something about your situation ?

Using HikaShop + HikaMarket and wanting to create predefined TIME fields for each vendor, it would have been helpful to have a DATEPICKER with HOURS and MINUTES. I will have to use different custom field of the type "single dropdown".
Thank you for your reply
