Hi,

I like to create a menu-item with a category overview of one category. Therefore I create a menu-item with a categories listing. I use DIV is a layout format. Within the category options, I choose for the layout type in Item Layout 'image and description'. When I testdrive this with the main category 'product category', all is fine on my website.
BUT, when I change the category to one of my subcategories (product category > sub-category), the layout disappears and I just get an image above, underneath the description and the title disappears.

Where do I go wrong? Is it in the category itself, the menu-type, the layout options? See the images for my configurations and layouts that I get by just changing the category.

Hi,

I don't see why that would be possible.
Please provide a backend access along with a link to this thread via our contact form so that we can check on that menu item:

Hi Nicolas,

Thank you for your response. I tried a few extra things and discovered where the layout doesn't do what I want it to do.
When I select a category as main, it shows up above the category layout. Image above, description below and no title. The subcategories show below this main category. The subcategories have a layout that I like, also for the main category: image left, title and description right.

Maybe with this extra information, you know where I have to go to make this main category change in the layout of image left, title and description right. The attached image shows you how it is now.

Best wishes,

Job

Hi,

It's normal that the description and image of the main category display one below the other at the top of the listing.
It's handled by the "show description" and "show image" settings of your menu item.
There is no setting to change the layout of the display of that main category.
So you have two solutions, you can either do it with custom CSS, or you can customize the file "listing" of the view "category" which displays the HTML of these elements.
You can read more about how to add such CSS or view override here:
