Slow generating of product page

Hi,

Well, on a product page, the system has to load each variant as if it was a product.
So it's like displaying a listing of 71 products if your product has 70 variants.
That can amount to a lot of HTML and that can also slow down the processing of the page.
Now I have seen websites with a few hundred variants for a product with loading times like than a second.
So it might be that this happens because on top of the 70 variants, you have content plugins or a lot of extensions doing processing on the pages, and/or you have a slow server, etc.

Now I'm not seeing the problem on the link you provided:

The product page of HikaShop actually loads faster than the home page which doesn't have HikaShop.
And that product has 90 variant combinations...

But note that if the characteristic doesn't change the price or the quantity or anything else, it's better to use an option or a custom item field. It will take a lot less resources and will work the same.
