Buy One Get One Discounted

How do I set-up a product so that if the user buys one they get the 2nd one at a discounted price, for example 50% off?

There are two ways that my products are entered.

1) I have listings with multiple quantities and the user can choose a size AND

2) I have listings of the same product by colours

My questions are:

Regarding #1: what do I do so that when the user add 2 items to the cart they get the 50% discount? If they add 3, they pay the full price for the 3rd but if they add 4 they get 50% off, etc...

Regarding #2: what do I do so that when the user add 2 items, from different listings but of the same product, they get the 50% discount? If they add 3, they pay the full price for the 3rd but if they add 4 they get 50% off, etc... We didn't fully understood your needs but there's actually no proper option to "Buy X Get Y", your solution will be to :
- Directly create different price per quantity if you only have one product

- Use auto-loaded coupons for example.

- Directly use an extension handling all of this like awocoupon :
awodev.com/products/joomla/awocoupon
