Warning msg when add to cart

Is there a method to add a pop up or warning when a customer adds certain items to their cart.
For example.
Customer does not log on so location is not known.
They want to add frozen food product.
This is fine if they live local to us but not if they don't and we cannot deliver because of that.
So a general notice warning saying ' we are unable to deliver chilled and frozen outside of our town'

I have partly solved it by adding a badge with a link on the category. If anyone has a better solution?

There's actually no option to do it, so it will require code customization to achieve exactly what you want.
A solution can eventually be to restrict your product to "registered" user groups using access levels through your product configuration page, so that your customers will have to be logged in to add these products on their cart.
