Accordion or tree menu for categories

Hi,
HikaShop is still my favourite e-Commerce solution for Joomla and I always use it on my customers' sites but after all these years of development, has a dynamic HikaShop categories tree or accordion module created?
As far as I've understood I have to create a Joomla Menu for each category to show a sort of "tree" in a menu.
Am I wrong?
Any chance to have a module which shows a category in the front-end as soon as it is created in HikaShop, just like it happens in the back-end?
Thank you very much
Kind regards

Hello,

This type of feature is mainly of an aesthetic & display type.
The work of the HikaShop team is above all to provide solutions and systems to make your E-commerce work.
Additionally, we think that there are already template or plugins offering this specific effect.

In details, use the "categories on 2 levels" module. Simply activate it via the Joomla module manager.
And besides, it is activated automatically with the default configuration of the installation wizard at the end of the HikaShop installation.

It will be displayed with the same operation, but the look of the module depends on the template (or a display plugin) used. So by default you will have a simple look and if you want the same look as on our demo site, you will have to use either the same CSS or the same Joomla template (or a template offering this effect).
See our Demo website, here .

Hello,

After reflection and research I realize that the accordion effect is available on HikaShop!
Sorry for my oversight!

Let's stay on the module mentioned in my previous message, that is to say "categories on 2 levels", and reproduce this configuration :

then, you will have your accordion effect.
Regards

Hi Philip, thank you for your kind reply.
My settings are exactly as your picture but there's no accordion effect on the front-end.
I guess you're using a template that implements CSS-JS styling for HikaShop menus, aren't you?
I use Helix Ultimate but, as far as I know, there's no similar option but I can be wrong of course.
I've built my own css style to format HikaShop Menu but I'd like to have accordion option available for other 2 customers that are going to buy HikaShop for their sites (still under development).
Thank you!

Hi,

While the template on the demo website has custom CSS/JS with its own accordion system, the default accordion system in the HikaShop content module in categories listing mode doesn't require custom CSS / JS. It works with relying on Joomla's built-in accordion system and it should work with any Joomla template.

Note that Philippe made a mistake on his last screenshot. The "show children" setting has to be set to "direct sub categories" if not, the accordion system won't be usable as a category would have sub categories from different levels.
That might be why you don't see the accordion.
Or it could also be a javascript error on the page where you're testing this.
