File Download Links Failing to resolve

-- Joomla version -- : 5.4.4
-- PHP version -- : 8.4.14
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome 146.0.7680.178
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Info
File not found

The Download link fails to work and displays the error message “File not found.” However, when saving the file from the backend, it appears to be saved correctly. I have verified the override data for this file and have not encountered any errors. This issue appears across multiple products. Interestingly, the direct link to the file works without going through Hikashop.

Hi,

Could you please:
1. Go to HikaShop > System > Configuration > Files tab and tell us the "Secure file upload folder" path
2. Edit one of the affected products, click on the name of the file, and tell us the file path shown for the file in the popup ?

Here is what I have. Was working before updating to 6.4.0

Upload secure folder: media/com_hikashop/upload/safe/
Upload folder: images/com_hikashop/upload/

Filename: /home/XXXXXXyesaccessible.com/images/typeability/TypeAbility4.8.0.exe

Hi,

Thank you for the details. We've investigated the problem and it comes from a tightened security check added in 6.4.0 which is now a bit too restrictive.
We've made a patch for it. Download again the install package of the 6.4.0 on our website and install it on yours and you'll get the patch. It should then work properly again.

I downloaded and installed the 6.4.0 as you asked and cleared the cache. Doing testing now
