Orders by same customer for same item showing different Fedex charges

Hello,
We had a customer place an order for an item, twice within 3 minutes. She chose the same item, the same shipping method (Fedex), address was the same, everything. However the amount charged was quite different and was about $15 different.

How is this possible?

We can't reproduce your issue on our end so can you send us a temporary back-end access to your website so that we can directly check it ?
We'll also need both order ids to properly check it.

Your product variant doesn't seem to existe anymore, so we can't really reproduce it, we'll need step by step instructions to properly test and debug in.

We'll try to reproduce it on our end in the in the meantime.

Hi,
Ya the website owner deleted the variants. Why? I don't know....

Unfortunately it was just a chance that we saw two different shipping charges come through on the same item ordered to the same address. Don't know how to reproduce it unfortunately. Suppose we could sit there and place order after order until we got different responses, but that would most likely not work and be inconclusive.
