How to display the product code on the product page ?

You need to edit the CSS of HikaShop via the interface in the configuration under the tab display in the CSS area.
There, in order to display the product code on the product page, you can remove the CSS:

.hikashop_product_code_main{ display:none; }

I've tried to make the product code disappear from the description (i am using Joomla 1.7)and it does not seem to work...the code still appears on the description of the product... is there anything else i can do to make things work?

Thanks.

The product code should not be visible by default.
If you see it, it's because of your template's span processing option. Please deactivate it and it will remove the product code.

You can deactivate that in the options of your template via the templates manager of joomla.

You don't need to remove the CSS files but if you really want to , you will be able to delete them in the folder media/com_hikashop/css via FTP.

Hi,

I went to the Hikashop tab and from the Display> Views i picked the file show_default.php from the front end of the products category list of my specific template and it seems to be working.I commented out:

<!--<span id="hikashop_product_code_main" class="hikashop_product_code_main">
<?php
echo $this->element->product_code;
?>
</span>-->

quick questions:

1) On the product listings all the text can be edited from Hikashop's front end custom.css file? are there any other files that affect the styling (color pposition etc) of the text next to the images of each product and of the text in general in Hikashop? i am just trying to make this look as professional as possible.

2) Because i am doing an online gallery store that will be selling antique maps etc. i would like to make categories first and then product listings in each category. I've created the categories in Hikashop and linked them as category listings in their respective menu items but does not seem to appear.

Thanks for the help.

1. All the CSS of HikaShop comes from there. The rest is from your template.

2. We would need more details in order to help you. Like some screenshots of the options/result

Hello,

Well i needed to make something similar to the demo site that you have online and it would be nice to put categories then click on the respective one and go into regular product pages.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

I 've attached 2 sample images from the site i am working on right now... what i meant was to make a x amount of categories - first image- and inside those, there will be various products of that category.

Thanks for all the help.

Ah ok, that's clear now. So you want to create a category listing menu as explained here :
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...html#categories_menu
That will allow you to get that result.

Hi,

Please first read this documentation page:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...ize-the-display.html
It explains how to edit the CSS of HikaShop and change the code of the views and how to find which view to edit.

Thank you!
The picture with red border on your support page helped me a lot to understand the product displayings and its CSS structure.
Kind regards,
András
