Difference btw Max Length and Size in custom field

Whas is the difference between the parameters

Macsimum length

and

Size

in the custom fields creation process?

Hi,

Maximum length is used for the number of character that the user can enter in the custom fields with the type text or textarea.
And size is for the dropdowns, it set the number of line to display.
