Hello

Is importing products via a csv file available in hikamarket? vendors should be able to import their products via an excel sheet, is this feature available in the hikamarket? in case it is not available can this be done from the admin panel? Like to upload products related to a specific vendor...etc. ? in case this option is available I would like to know how it is done.

Thanks

Hello,

HikaMarket do not propose an import feature via the HikaShop import due to the ACL system.
The HikaShop import system allow admins to perform the import and give an access to all possible fields, including the "product_vendor_id" field which contains the identifier of the vendor who is selling the product.
So, even if vendors can't import in the front-end, it's still possible to use the HikaShop import system and define the vendor id.

Hello Jerome,

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply and the explanation, I just read a post 3 years ago that you guys are working on this, so I was wondering if it is already available or done.

Ok great, thanks a lot for the info, so by specifying the vendor id in the excel then it all will be uploaded under his/her name, correct?

Hello,

We started to work on a refactoring of the import system but due to the complexity of the ACL restrictions, it made the import difficult to use for vendors (unless you have specific configurations and give a big access to the vendors).
So, because the import should be really easy and friendly for vendors, what we do have is not suitable enough for a release.

Regarding the HikaShop backend import, yes, you need to provide the vendor ID so the link with the vendor will be made.

Hello,

Like is there an excel file example that we can refer to? and also how to add the vendor id in that excel file so the products we are uploading using a CSV file gets uploaded under the right vendor name on the website.

Hi,

In the backend products listing of HikaShop, you can use the "export" button to get a CSV with all the columns.
You'll see in it the product_vendor_id column which contains the id of the vendor the product will be associated to during the import.
