Tax showing up as VAT

Is there somewhere else to look for taxes?

I have everything I can find set to USD and other settings (that I know of) but my Invoices are still showing sales taxes as VAT.

Any place I should look?

You can go in the config under the tab languages and override the translation strings which have VAT in them:
