Limiting Coupons to users

I would like to create a coupon codes that only works on a subset of the users for example it is available to affiliates only or something of the sort.

There is no options for that. However, you can limit coupons to user groups, so if you could create a small plugin to add a user group to a user when he is an affiliate you would be able to do that.
