-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.charitymobi.org/raffle/purchase-ticket
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.2.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.1.5

When the user reaches the terms and conditions during the checkout process, do you know of any way to make the terms and condtions popout into a modal or new window and force the user to scroll to the bottom and then check the box?

Have you seen this request before?

Open to any suggestions.

Hi,

I know what you mean but I honestly don't know of any easy method to do that. The popup that you have with the T&C in HikaShop is just a joomla article page. There is no control of HikaShop on it besides opening it.
There is probably a way to do it with custom javascript code but you're the first one asking about such possibility.
I would recommend to seek advice with a third party developer who can do such customization for you.

Thanks so much for the reply and links. Very helpful.

Some of the javascript is above my level considering this needs to be up sooner than later. It is possible that the client is willing to pay for a workable solution.

What about this less elegant solution.

I put the terms and conditions on its own step during the checkout. I can then figure out how to put the text of the T&C above box that needs to be checked. That way the user has to scroll to the bottom of the page to check the box.

I think ti can be done using hikashop custom fields. Not really sure how, my first time installing hikashop was just a few days ago but I think this functionality is there.

Does this make sense? Do you think this plan could work?

I am on the essential store, would I need to move up to the business store?

FYI here is a link to the product in the store.

Both the software and support have been fantastic! I know I have asked a lot of questions but the forums and documentation have allowed me to solve most issue on my own.

Hi,

In that case that's easy. The T&C checkbox is on it's own view. So configure the checkout workflow option of the configuration to have the T&C view alone on it's own step. Then, via the menu Display->Views edit the file "terms" and add the text of your T&C at the beginning of the file. That's all.

Thanks so much for the information.

A couple of follow up questions

1. If I edit the view through the hikashop backend will my changes be overwritten when I upgrade Hikashop?

2. I see some php code to call the text from the associated Joomla article. How can I modify this so that the text is output to the page rather than in a modal window? (I think it will be easier for the client (and me) to update a joomla article rather than go back to this view.

Thanks! -- Steven

1. No.

2. There is no easy way to display an article content unless you install a third party extension like this one:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di.../content-embed/10799

Thanks so much for the Articles Anywhere suggestion.

It worked perfectly.

Now we are displaying 5 screen fulls of raffle instructions before the user is able to check the box and click next.

Perhaps later on I can incorporate the javascript and a modal window or iframe to keep the page short.
