custom field to select alternative products

Hi.
I would like to add a custom field in checkout process (frontend) to select an alternative product. I would like to have an input field that it could select a product from a float navigator categories/product list.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

You can maybe do it by displaying an HikaShop Content Module during the checkout, then your customer will be able to add products to their cart during the checkout process.

Thanks but i need that the product will not be in the cart. I would like the customer in checkout process, could select in a custom field a product but this product not in the order, only as additional information.

Hi there,

This kind of thing is not possible with Hikashop without some huge customization. You can either create a plugin if you feel confident enough or ask on the commercial job forum if it's really what you want.
Either way, you can use the content module as Mohamed suggested and only propose specific products with no price and a name like "alternative product: your product" so it will be in the order but the client won't pay for it.
