Joomla user not created during checkout

My problem: Joomla user not created during checkout "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet."

-- url of the page with the problem -- : Not a visual problem.
-- HikaShop version -- : Hikashop Business 2.2.2
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.14
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.8
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Several different ones. Many orders have same problem.
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

Recently upgraded from Essential (a few version behind) to Business (newest).

When a customer places an order and register during checkout, no joomla user is created. Why is that? So there is 0 in the field user_cms_id in the table hikashop_user.

The error is: "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.". Om the checkout page the user can click "Finish", the order is sent in, without an attached Joomla user account.

To fix this I register the customer for hand, using the same email-address. Then this field "user_cms_id" in "hikashop_user" is automatically filled in. I assume that one of theese plugins that are both "Enabled" does this?

  • HikaShop joomla user account link plugin
  • HikaShop user synchronization plugin
Also in Joomla, under Users > User manager > Settings the setting for "Allow User Registration" is set to "Yes".

Two tabs over, still in Options, "Permissions", has this permission set for Public > Create : "Inherited". Also Calculated setting shows: "Not allowed". This seem to not be a problem on my other joomla-sites, where user registration in Joomla works with the same setting.

Also, customers registred earlier who places an order, does not get this problem. Their user information is of course correct.

after the upgrade to Joomla 3.2, user registration now throws this error
and on my site admin tools blocks the user's ip; thus a separate issue
I have disabled strong passwords as per this community builder find
www.joomlapolis.com/forum/153-profession...-191?start=12#236611
(note no 'community builder' on this site though - but the info is good)

I have reinstalled version 2.2.2 but still the same issue

For now I am making it guest checkout so that the site still works.
but it would be good to know how to make rego work again in 3.2

thanks

ian

Hi,

Joomla 3.2 introduced several bugs for the account creation.
HikaShop uses Joomla to create the users so, the bugs are present too.

They are working on patches and they will submit a new Joomla build.

I've not seen bug fix are people still getting this.

Since the upgrade to both Hika and Joomla it's been a nightmare! The new user creating is giving loads of errors and messages. Killing Sales

I don't know where to begin.. I have the same problem and when I reported this to the Hikashop team ,After 10 days waiting they just simply denied everything and told me it is not their problem! Support email:
"This is not related to HikaShop so our support doesn't cover that...Nicolas"

Dear Mr Nicolas, I felt very bad when I paid for your buggy program and instead of helping me when it stopped working, you just simply denied everything. As you can see, this is clearly related to Hikashop.

I am paying somebody to move my website to Magento and I hope I can get rid of this crap software ASAP. I am very unhappy about the software itself as well as the support team. Hikashop is a real nightmare which I hope going to end soon

Hi,

It's too bad that you took it that way.
I was trying to help but you never replied to me...
Here was the rest of my message:

This is not related to HikaShop so our support doesn't cover that. But even if we were to have a look, we would first need that you provide a way to replicate the problem all the time. Without that, it's not possible to test anything since in order to perform tests to see where it's coming from, you need to have a way of reproducing the problem. If it's random, then tests are worthless and just a waste of time.

I did want to look at your problem provided that you could provide a way to replicate the problem, which you never did.
And please note that I replied to all of your emails in under 24 hours, not 10 days.
And unfortunately, you never provided any bug report like @Taz_1999 did here and your description of the issue didn't fit with the issue here. Finally, as you can see at the end of the other thread that Jerome linked to, that problem was fixed by changing some code in Joomla so I'm not sure how you're concluding that "this is clearly related to hikashop".

So we did the best we could here and saying that HikaShop and our support is crap because you had a bug in Joomla which we couldn't help with because we didn't had enough information from you even though the problem was not in HikaShop is a bit strong...
We really try to help everyone as much as we can and I sincerely hope that you'll have a better experience with Magento.
