A notes field for the customer

I would like if it was possible for my customers to have a notes field when they check out.
Is it possibe to add such a notes field to the order?
Sometimes my customers have a short message for me or regarding their order but they have nowhere to put it?

I have now created a custom field of the table "order" via the menu Display>Custom fields.

But it doesn't show anywhere??
I hve tried to make an fictive order on my site but there is no notes field anywhere?

All of these are set to YES: Front-end Back-end-formular Back-end-liste Publiceret
Core ia unactive and I can't activate it? what does CORE mean?

You have to add the step "field" in your checkout via the menu Configuration > Checkout.
