could not instantiate mail function

Hi,

I have two problems:
1. I have Joomla set to PHP Mail and can create new users and send them email -- no problem. However, I get this message "Could not instantiate mail function" when ordering through Hikashop. If I change to send mail -- I get an error also. (see screen shots).

I have searched the forums but cannot figure this one out. I just upgraded to Hikashop Business from Essential. Any help is appreciated.

2. I would like to change the completion message highlighted in the 2nd screen shot below but cannot find where to do that in the language files or views. Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi,

It's a strange thing, the displayed error messages are not HikaShop messages.
For the emails, we use the Joomla mailer. So if your Joomla emails are working the HikaShop one should work too.

Thanks to check your email parameters and try different configuration in HikaShop > Configuration > Mails.

To translate the highlighted message, you have to edit the file: "plugins/hikashoppayment/creditcard/creditcard.php", function "getPaymentDefaultValues()".

1. RESOLVED: I have resolved the "Could not instantiate mail function" error -- because the site is under construction I had not set up the email accounts on the new host yet. Once I did that, the error disappeared.

2. NOT RESOLVED: I changed the wording on the file you directed me to but the onscreen message has not changed --- any ideas?

Hi,

Sorry it's easiest than editing the plugin file.
You jsut have to edit the payment method credit card in the backend of HikaShop, and change the text in the textarea "Information".
