Billing address

During checkout, it indicates that the billing address can be either changed by clicking an icon on the side or a new one added by clicking an icon on the bottom. Whenever I do this, the whole Hika Shop screen changes to a black look and nothing is permitted. Could send a screen shot if helpful

Hi,

I think you have some troubles with the Joomla popup system.
Because you did not provide your joomla version it will be difficult to give you more details.
But if you change the popup mode in your HikaShop configuration, it could help.

Otherwise, you will have to test if your template can display Joomla popup correctly.

You already have the latest Joomla! version, 2.5.17. Does this help at all in determining the problem?

It's often a jquery / mootools conflict which generates such issue. You could try to install and configure the jquery easy plugin for Joomla.
And if that doesn't work, please provide a link to the shop so that we can see the issue and we might be able to tell you more about it.
