Automated emails for order creation show VAT vs TAX. This website is setup to do sales tax for indiana customers only. Everything seems to be working now but, the confirmation emails are showing VAT vs. TAX.
In languages, I have set the override string to: TOTAL_WITH_VAT="Total with TAX : %s"
TOTAL_WITHOUT_VAT="TOTAL without TAX : %s".

ALl currencies set to USD in zones, taxes and products. DOnt know what I'm missing.

The customer is still receiving VAT in email. Please advise. I will gladly allow admin access.

-Thank you for any help.

Here is a pic. Also, i have setup tax rule for indiana sales tax only. WOrked for awhile but here is an order from Penn and VAT stills shows! Driving me nuts. Changed language overrides to TAX and it shouldnt even be taxing Penn. in the first place.

Hi,

I'm not sure if you're saying that the issue is that customers outside Indiana are taxed when they should not, or if the issue is that the customers see the tax in the emails while they don't see it in the checkout, or if the issue is that the text VAT is shown in the email notifications although you changed it in the translations (actually I do see it correct in your screenshot, so it must not be that).

If customers outside Indiana are taxed when they should not, it means that your tax rule(s) is not configured properly. We would need a screenshot of your tax rules listing to be able to say more on the issue.

To be quite honest all of these problems have exited at one time or another. I am tiring over trying to fix them. I have started many topics and received helped, but problems keep happening. I seem to keep going in circles.

The current issue is that Indiana will not show up in the drop down on the checkout. It has worked fine before, but now it is not showing. Indiana is the only state that we tax. I had a ticket on this in the forum that you or another person had helped me with. I am about to lose a client and I am nervous.

Hi,

I just did a just on your website and I do see the "indiana" state in the state field of the registration form, along with all the other states of the USA. However, I don't see the tax applied to the prices even though my address in now in Indiana which do means that something with your tax rules is not configured properly. As I said in my previous message, we would need a screenshot of your tax rules listing to be able to say more on the issue

Hi,
1. Are you using an Indiana billing address through your checkout process ?
2. Can you check that the "Product tax category" option of your products is correctly set to "State Sales Tax"

Yes.

They were set to "default tax", I am changing them all to "Sate Sales Tax" now.

So it should work now right ?
Because you need to have the same tax category in your tax rules and in your products, otherwise, the tax rules won't apply to your products.
